Below: Red-naped Sapsucker - The nesting cavity used by the bird shown above. We repeatedly watched the following process: one parent would arrive at the nest with food and make a soft note. The other parent would immediately fly out of the hole to forage, and the the newly arrived parent would enter to feed and watch over the young. Intense work!
